Process Control Systems Training

ASC offers the following courses in working with the Valmet DNA automation system (until 01-05-2015 - Metso DNA) (an automation platform, developed by Valmet Automation Inc.):

  1. Valmet DNA basic engineering (8 days)
  2. Control loops design in FbCAD, operator displays design in DNAuseEditor, DNAnetworkDesigner tool, Function Test and Debugger DIA tools. Engineering Activity and automation language concepts, as well as DNAexplorer are also covered.

  3. Valmet DNA advanced engineering (5 days)
  4. Creating control and sequence modules using templates (standard and custom), modules for motors, valves, conditions, Composite Function Block, arrays, SIM for input/output simulation. The specialists attending the course must have experience in control loops engineering, or must have attended the Valmet DNA basic engineering course.

  5. Valmet DNA software (7 days)
  6. Detailed study of software tools and system design principles, practical exercises, basics of system hardware.

  7. Valmet DNA hardware (7 days)
  8. Detailed study of system hardware and networks; connectivity with devices, stations and I/O cards; hardware failures; basics of system software.

  9. Valmet DNA Info-server (7 days)
  10. Principles of configuration and operation, use of system and user software tools, trouble-shooting.

  11. Valmet DNA configuration (7 days)
  12. Principles of software and hardware configuration, network settings for various types of equipment (VME, valmetACN, PC), trouble-shooting of possible failtures.

  13. Valmet DNA Basic course (2 days)
  14. Comprehensive survey of the operation, structure and operating concepts of Valmet DNA. Basic concepts of maintenance, application planning and the use of the different nodes are examined. Basic structures, use and functions of the equipment and hardware units are presented.

  15. Valmet DNA Maintenance course (3 days)
  16. Detailed review of the functions, structures, maintenance and calibration procedures of the Valmet DNA hardware units and peripheral devices. Practical exercises give an insight into troubleshooting, fault rectification, measuring and maintenance by using self-diagnostic.

  17. Valmet DNA Info-server maintenance course (3 days)
  18. Configuration of process and event databases, reports, access to trends and reports from client computers, maintenance actions.

  19. Valmet DNA Engineering course (4 days)
  20. Review of different phases of Valmet DNA’s application engineering. Application program configuration principles for individual activities are explained. The course provides a detailed survey of the use of the customers programming equipment primarily in regard to application program modifications. The different phases of making the most typical modifications (for example measurement scale and motor interlocking connection modifications) and adding new simple loops are practiced in exercises.

  21. Valmet DNA Basic Info-server (2 days)
  22. Basics of Info-server structure and typical user tools.

  23. Valmet DNA project documentation (3 days)
  24. Using HwCAD and DNAnetworkDesigner tools for creating documentation for I/O and control cabinets, as well as system layouts.

  25. Valmet DNA OPC clients and servers (2 days)
  26. Configuration of Valmet DNA OPC client and server software.

Upon completion of a course every participant receives an official qualification improvement certificate of Russian Federation Ministry of Education, for which PetrSU has the required license.

Since 2005 ã. Valmet DNA training courses have been given to more than 1500 specialists from more than 100 enterprises and organizations of Russia.
