Software system "ASC: Multi"

Key facts

The number of different types of products of a multiproduct enterprise can reach several thousand. A good example of such enterprise is repair plant of Arkhangelsk pulp-and-paper mill, which produces spare parts and units for mill's process equipment.

The challenge

The number of production orders and the total number of products at a multiproduct enterprise can reach several thousand a month. Manufacturing of all products requires material resources, which are sometimes rare and/or expensive. Therefore, production plan must be coordinated with the purchasing plan and stock management. The plant management is often unable to make the optimal plan and guarantee that all orders are fulfilled in time.

The solution

The automation system of ERP class, developed for multiproduct plant management, solves these problems. The system functions include all functions of ERP-class systems. In addition to those the system implements unique algorithms and mathematical methods for:

• Master Schedule Planning;
• Material requirement planning;
• Equipment capacity planning;
• Production activity control.

System modules can be integrated with other systems (e.g. SAP R/3).

Results to date

Currently there are over 100 users in the system. Interbase is used for database management pruposes, but MS SQL Server is another possibility. The use of the system has reduced production expenses by 15%, and shortened the time for fulfillment of orders.
